Russian Nuclear Submarine & Warships Conduct Missile Drills In the Atlantic While En Route To Cuba

The Russian defense ministry announced missile drills conducted by a naval frigate and a nuclear-powered submarine in the Atlantic Ocean.

The drills involved the sub-Kazan and warship Admiral Gorshkov firing high-precision missiles at mock enemy targets from over 600 km away.

In addition to missile drills, Admiral Gorshkov conducted training to prevent air attacks.

These vessels are part of a group of four Russian warships scheduled to reach Cuba.

Cuba stated that these visits are standard practices by allied naval units and that the vessels are not carrying nuclear weapons, posing no threat to the area.

Amid tensions with Russia over the Ukraine war, the U.S. will closely monitor these activities, even though it does not perceive them as threatening.

A U.S. official mentioned that Russia's move demonstrates its capability for global power projection.
